First Baby of 2021

Iowa Specialty Hospital is proud to announce the birth of the first baby of 2021.  August James Manwarren, son of Tollin and Miranda Manwarren of Sheffield, was born on January 1, 2021 at 10:49 a.m.  August weighed 8 pounds, 0.2 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long. 

August joins two siblings at home; Aaron, age 4 and Asia, age 3. 

“We at Iowa Specialty Hospital are excited to celebrate the birth of the first baby of the year,” stated Jennifer Mewes, OB Leader.  “These small miracles that we are allowed to participate in every day remind us to keep remembering how lucky we are.  We look forward to seeing what 2021 brings to us.”

Both the Manwarrens and Iowa Specialty Hospital would like to thank the following individuals and businesses who donated gifts for the first baby of 2021: Gabriele Hawkins, Sharon Geisinger, PSI, Eagle Grove Chiropractic, The Hair Studio, Fuel, Grounded, Julie Schmidt-Scentsy, Snack Village, Thrifty White Pharmacy, Urness Hardware, First State Bank, Hearts & Flowers, Dollar General-Clarion, Leah Jean Boutique and Iowa Specialty Hospital Auxiliary. 

Iowa Specialty Hospital just celebrated the birth of their 500th baby of 2020 and ended the year with a total of 508 deliveries.  This shattered the previous record in 2019 of 426 babies.
