I have tried to instill in my children that they are a product of the choices they make. Each decision has a consequence and some will lead you closer to your goals and some will lead you off the path. For most of us the road we are traveling is paved with tough choices and hard work. I know Shaila has experienced this first hand in her first year at college. It was a lot more challenging and required her to work harder than when she was in high school. This is part of life and part of shaping us into the individuals we were meant to be.
Something or someone has lead each of you to work in healthcare. Often it is an internal passion to serve and help others; the need to make a difference. I am sure there have been times in your journey where you wanted to give up and walk away from pursuing that goal. Whatever your personal challenge was you made a choice and you overcame the obstacle; you didn’t give up. On a daily basis I see the impact you make on our patients without even realizing it. Because you work with such passion it comes through in the care you provide in a million different ways. There is something so comforting about receiving care at our facilities and that is directly tied to each and every one of you. So, today I am thankful for the choices that lead you down the path that landed you as part of the ISH team. Thank you for the difference you make!
