Amy's Reflections

“For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.” —Walter Scott

I had a discussion last night with Maleigha trying to help her understand the difference between someone that is a true friend and those that appear to be friends but will not have your back when you need them the most. We talked through a couple of different scenarios and I tried to share the life lesson of being nice to everyone. There is more than enough room in this world to be nice and anyone that purposefully tries to hurt someone’s feelings is truly mean. I am pretty sure that I have about 7 more years of these conversations if history has taught me anything.

I was sharing the other day with a couple of leaders that I am constantly in awe of how amazing our team is especially when working with other facilities or teams. We have been in various conversations lately with other teams or businesses working on strategic partnerships or just brainstorming possibilities. I find myself surprised by the inability of these groups to see the possibilities. This reinforces what a gift it is to work with our team daily. We have an incredible collection of intelligent, driven and passionate individuals that are committed to the path they are on and determined to remove the barriers in their way. Life is truly about surrounding yourself with people that help you grow as an individual and support you on your journey. Your inner circle so to speak. Every once in a while you should evaluate your inner circle and make sure that they still fit this criteria as life is too short to spend you precious time with people holding you back or tearing you down.  My challenge to you this week is to be the “nice” in this crazy world, we could all use it.
