This week has held a common theme for me and my family. Most of my discussions have centered around what's next for the kids: branching out and exploring the unknown. Shaila is planning her next steps in life with her boyfriend from Texas. Where will they settle, and what will that look like? The boys will be seniors next year, discussing what they want to do for college and their career paths. Maleigha is trying to figure out what part of the horse world she loves the most and if she can successfully train horses. These discussions have been filled with joy and fun while dreaming big.
Dr. Whitters once gave me a magnet that said, "I Dream Bigger." It is on my overhead in my office all these years later as a reminder that nothing is out of reach and we can do big things. If we can dream them, we can do them. That may be the best part of working for Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics: having the vision to accomplish great things and being relentless in pursuing that vision. This week, I challenge you to think beyond your current situation and dream big. So many amazing things are waiting for us in the unknown; we just need to chart our course.
